"Gold" from the Dollar Store

Yesterday I went to the local Dollar Store. There, I found that they were selling 35mm cameras for 25 cents each! There were at least 1,000 cameras there, and each one was a bit different. They had probably been in the store for a long time, because they were completely covered in dust. I suppose that the store was trying to sell as many as they could before throwing them out. I decided to buy one. I got a bright red one. I also managed to go to a local drugstore and get some cheap store-brand film. Here it is, pictured with my Holga 135.

Today I decided to google "dollar store camera", just to see what kind of photos it took. Apparently, it takes pictures similar to that of my Holga (because of its plastic lens and the way it is cheaply made)! I've seen the photos, and they are full of light leaks and other happy accidents. I became very excited as I saw shots from other cameras of its kind. So I went to the dollar store again today and bought four more.

I decided to give one to my sister. She chose the pink one.

It is unbelieveable that I was able to get a camera for 25 cents! And from what I've read, the camera seems pretty good. It will be interesting to see the results.

By the way, the camera is called the "Special Moments 650-pc", just in case you want to look it up.
